MongoDB Engineer (Level 2-3)

We are seeking a MongoDB Engineer in Maryland to develop capabilities that shift the current manual system security evaluation and authorization process to a new model emphasizing automation, streamlined processes and approvals, continuous monitoring and assessment, and network data gathering across the full life cycle of a project.

Essential Responsibilities (describe the day-to-day)

  • Provide technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, and data flow analysis.
  • Develop and maintain database structures that fit into the overall system architecture.
  • Create new workflows to replace existing processes as needed, and support break/fix requests and updates.
  • Lead development of database structures, database parser software, and database loading software.
  • Support the development and testing of Python-based REST endpoints, microservices, and data model management capabilities using Django and Flask frameworks, interfacing with data models such as MariaDB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL to serve data in JSON format to UI front ends.
  • Provide subject matter expertise tuning and optimizing an existing MongoDB implementation.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands

General office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Database experience with MongoDB, including deployment and management of the database itself, debugging of optimization issues, and scaling.

Security Clearance Required

Top Secret//SCI w/Polygraph

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or five (5) years of equivalent Database Engineer experience in lieu of a degree.

Minimum Years of Experience

Eight (8) or more years of Database Engineering experience on similar projects.

Required Certifications

Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Python, Django, or Flask.
  • REST endpoint development and microservice architecture.
  • Swagger.
  • AWS, C2S, or other cloud experience.
  • Docker.
  • Visual Studio Code or similar IDEs, JSON and/or XML serialization.
  • Jira, Confluence.
  • Git version control.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.

Compensation Details

$105,100 – $231,100
